Genmoji Online: The Web Alternative for Every Other Device
Apple's Genmoji only runs on recent Apple hardware. If you're on Android, Windows, or an older iPhone, here's what Genmoji actually requires — and a free maker that works right now in your browser.
What is Genmoji?
Genmoji is Apple's AI emoji generator, introduced with Apple Intelligence in iOS 18.2. You describe an emoji — “a capybara DJ”, “crying cowboy frog” — and it generates an emoji-style image you can send in Messages, use as a sticker, or add to photos. In iOS 26, Apple extended it with Genmoji Mixes for combining existing emojis.
The catch: strict device requirements
| Device | Genmoji support |
|---|---|
| iPhone 15 Pro / 16 / 17 series | ✅ With iOS 18.2+ and Apple Intelligence on |
| iPhone 15 (non-Pro), 14 and older | ❌ Not supported |
| iPad / Mac with M1 or later | ✅ With iPadOS 18.2+ / macOS 15.2+ |
| Android phones | ❌ No Genmoji app exists |
| Windows / Linux / Chromebook | ❌ No web version exists |
On an unsupported device? The maker below runs in any browser, needs no account, and exports transparent PNG/SVG files you can use as stickers or custom emojis anywhere — including platforms Genmoji can't reach.

Frequently asked questions
Can I use Genmoji online or on the web?
No — Genmoji has no web version. It only exists inside Apple Intelligence on supported iPhones, iPads and Macs. If you’re on another device, a browser-based maker like the one on this page is the practical alternative: it creates custom emoji images you can download and use anywhere.
Is there Genmoji for Android?
There is no official Genmoji app for Android. Android users can combine emojis with Gboard’s Emoji Kitchen, or build fully custom emojis right here in the browser — no install needed.
Which devices support Genmoji?
Genmoji requires Apple Intelligence: iPhone 15 Pro or newer (and all iPhone 16/17 models), iPads and Macs with M1 or later, running iOS/iPadOS 18.2+ or macOS Sequoia 15.2+. Older devices — including iPhone 14 and 15 (non-Pro) — cannot run it.
How is this maker different from Genmoji?
Genmoji generates emoji-style images from a text prompt with AI, and results live inside Apple’s ecosystem. This maker lets you hand-pick every part (head, eyes, mouth, details) and exports transparent PNG/SVG files that work everywhere — Discord, Slack, WhatsApp, documents, anything.
Can Genmoji be used as real emojis outside iMessage?
Genmoji are technically stickers/images. In non-Apple apps they send as images, and on Android they arrive as pictures rather than inline emojis. Downloadable PNGs from a web maker behave the same way — with the advantage that you control the file and can upload it as a custom emoji where platforms allow.
